ACP THERAPIES
What Is Bowen Therapy?
Bowen therapy is a gentle, non-invasive form of bodywork developed in the 1950s by Australian therapist Tom Bowen. It involves the practitioner using their fingers and thumbs to make subtle, rolling movements over muscles, tendons, and fascia at specific points on the body. These movements are designed to stimulate the body’s natural healing processes, promote relaxation, and alleviate pain. Bowen therapy is often used to treat musculoskeletal issues, stress, and chronic conditions. The approach emphasises minimal intervention, with pauses between sets of moves allowing the body time to respond and integrate the effects of the treatment.
